Gosport reclaimed third place from Wimborne following their 3-1 home win against Brockenhurst.
Neil Scammell was in the right place at the right time to shoot Gosport into a 16th-minute lead after David Goss had seen his header hit the crossbar, only for the Badgers to equalise on 32 minutes through Dave Midgeley.
Scammell headed home his second from an inch perfect Ian Dyer cross after 65 minutes and Graham Lindsay blasted in an unstoppable 18-yard drive ten minutes later to seal matters.
VT FC gained some revenge for an early season 5-0 drubbing on their own patch at the hands of Moneyfields by winning 2-0 at the Copnor-based club.
