Eastleigh & District Junior AC kept the pressure on the leading clubs in the Wessex Cross-Country League at Poole.

Katie Shipp came an excellent sixth for under-13 girls, supported by Bethany Woodhouse 17th, Sophie Jones 26th, Rebecca King 27th and Melody Young 29th.

The team was second on the day, moving the girls up to fourth in the league, just outside the medal positions.

The under-15 boys are already guaranteed a set of bronze medals, but they are still snapping at the heels of the top two clubs thanks to Dean Millier (7th), Adam Hicks (12th) and Gareth Phillips (14th), placing them third team on the day.

There was more success for Eastleigh's under-13 boys, with Arron Brown 21st, Alex Millen 22nd, Callum Bressington 25th and Stuart Phillips 27th.

The quartet finished fifth at Poole and crept up into the medal positions for third overall.

In the under-11s' race Alice Blackman was tenth, Nicola Gill 13th, Molly Dinden 19th, Lauren Halstead 23rd and Nicola Smith 24th for the girls, while Morgan Bressington and Chad Mansergh came 17th and 19th respectively for the boys.
