ANDOVER'S Phoenix Centre has been the focus of a wide range of activities this half term but the trustees are looking for even more community involvement.
To help them gauge what people in area around River Way and Pilgrims Way would like from their centre supporters carried out a fact-finding survey of users during the week.
Those attending were asked to pin a flag on a map to show where they lived and write on the flag what they would like to see. People were also asked their views about how open spaces and play facilities in the area could be improved and for opinions on new housing development.
"We would like to get more people involved in using the centre," said Mandy Edwards, the chairman of the community association.
"The centre is used by local groups seven days a week but there is still room for more people to become involved and use the facilities.
"In particular we are hoping for more creative activities for the five to 11 age group as there is a particular need for this here."
One supporter who has watched the centre's progress is Andover MP Sir George Young who is now planning to hold one of his surgeries in the building so that people can have access to him on their doorsteps.
