DAPHNE Du Maurier's 1938 novel Rebecca was a masterpiece of storytelling.
The thriller was transferred to the big screen by Alfred Hitchcock and was followed by a successful BBC TV series.
Now The Mayflower will be transformed into the book's fictional town of Manderlay to tell its haunting story of secrets, obsession, love and romance.
The stage version of Rebecca stars Nigel Havers in the role made famous by Sir Laurence Olivier.
He plays widower Maxim De Winter, who remarries and brings his new wife home to Manderlay in Cornwall.
Manderlay is where his first wife, Rebecca, died and is a place sinisterly guarded by the housekeeper, Mrs Danvers.
Will the new Mrs De Winter be able to live up to the high standards of Rebecca, whose shadow and presence is still felt strongly among everyone in the household?
The story has been adapted for the stage by Tony Award-winning producer Frank McGuinness and this enchanting adaptation will take the audience on a journey full of twists and turns, before the story reveals its final shocking revelation.
Will the De Winter's marriage be able to survive once the scandalous truth has been revealed?
