DETECTIVES say they will continue their investigations surrounding the search of a Southampton park, despite not finding any evidence of human remains there.
Police called off the search of part of Riverside Park in Bitterne, as reported in later editions of yesterday's Daily Echo.
About 20 officers and a specially-trained dog had been involved with the search of an area near to the bank of the River Itchen.
But after spending the weekend examining the sealed-off area, detectives decided to call a halt to their activities.
Det Insp Nigel Niven thanked park users for their patience.
