THE National Theatre's award-winning production of JB Priestley's An Inspector Calls, is at The Mayflower, Southampton, in April.
A West End and worldwide hit, this production has won more awards than any other play in history.
Directed by Stephen Daldry, whose work includes the popular films Billy Elliot and The Hours, An Inspector Calls is set in a Yorkshire household during the early 1900s.
The play opens when a police inspector calls at the home of a wealthy industrialist to investigate the mysterious circumstances behind the death of a young woman.
Each member of the smug, well-to-do family has a secret - and a series of flashbacks reveals that each one of them is partly responsible for driving her to suicide.
As the suspense builds, the Inspector's startling revelations not only shatter their lives but challenge the audience to examine their consciences. An Inspector Calls runs from April 12 to 16. Box office: 023 8071 1811.
