SILCHESTER Players: Have auditions for their next play, which will be Night Must Fall by Emlyn Williams.
These take place next Tuesday, at 7.30pm, in the village hall.
Come along and try out for a part, or offer to help in some other way. You will have a very warm welcome.
AUCTION: On Saturday, February 19, starting at 10am, with viewing from 9am.
Goods for sale should be brought to the hall on Friday, February 18, when the doors open at 6.30pm.
Please remember that only eight lots per list will be accepted.
ROMAN talk: Tony still has some tickets available for the talk and slide show by Professor Michael Fulford from the 2004 dig.

cricket: Silchester cricketers literally went to the dogs last week, and enjoyed some good racing and their own "silchy stakes", when president, David Vallins, and chairman, Marsden Jones, presented an engraved beer mug to the winning owner.
PHOENIX Club: Held its AGM last week, when Mrs Noreen Smith, was re-elected president, Nancy Jones, secretary, and Sue Willmott, treasurer.
The next meeting is on March 2, and will be entitled "Turkish Delight".
New members will be made very welcome.
MOBILE library: The next two dates for Silchester are February 14 and 28. The times and locations are: Hydes Platt, from 2pm to 2.15pm; Firth Close, from 2.20pm to 2.30pm; and village hall, from 2.35pm to 3pm.
