EMBROIDERERS' Guild: The Hart branch of the Embroiderers' Guild is meeting on Monday, for a talk entitled "Three Surrey Ladies" given by Liz Ashurst.

This will be a talk about three leading Edwardian ladies, one of whom is Gertrude Jekyll.

The talk starts at 3pm, at the WI Hall, Green Lane, Hartley Wintney.

Entrance costs £3.

For more information, contact Wendy on 762723.

GARDENERS' club: If your true love doesn't send you an epic floral creation on the big day, you may have no alternative but to make your own.

Luckily, Hook Gardeners' Club is hosting a demonstration of Ikebana - the Japanese art of flower arrangement.

It takes place on Monday, at 8pm, in St John's Clubroom.

SEERA: It may not be widely known that the Government set up a body known as the South East England Regional Assembly (SEERA) five years ago.

One of the key responsibilities of the assembly is to prepare the South East Plan, covering all aspects of life in the South East.

According to Sean Haffey, district councillor for Hook, the effect of SEERA on places such as Hook is potentially very serious.

It could result in Hook and its surrounding villages being joined together to form a small town.

If you would like more information about SEERA, or if you would like to air your views, there is a public meeting next Thursday, starting at 8pm, at the community centre.
