TSUNAMI latest: Ruth McMahon went on her travels to India on Wednesday, to visit villages crippled by flooding.
Five-thousand people are believed to have lost their lives in the south of India, where the villages are waiting to be rebuilt.
A sum of £259 was raised for the tsunami appeal fund in a jumble sale at the Church of Christ the King last Saturday.
The money will be accompanying Ruth, who works with international charities to help victims of the flood disaster.
Devastation was overpowering and such items as food, water and cooking utensils, including pots, pans and stoves, continue to be urgently required.
Many children were orphaned and the team of helpers aims to unite children with surviving relatives.
The church jumble sale also raised £41 for Mencap.
MANOR Field Junior School: Staff attended a training day on January 28.
It is good that the school follows an anti-bullying policy, but it is also important not to ignore the fact that bullying does happen in most, if not all, schools.
Children who feel they are being bullied should be able to tell an adult about the problem.
Parents should feel able to approach staff at the school if they are worried about bullying.
