TEENAGER Suzie Opacic won the Ladies Open Tournament at Chandler's Ford SC.
The 16-year-old, pictured above, beat Paula Owens 2-1 in a tense final, winning £45 in table time to practice for further events.
Mia Rowlands, Charlotte Pyatt, Clare Brand and Donna Blyth also did well.
Mark McLean and Dan Hildyard reached the semi-finals of the Cuestars Masters event in Swindon.
McLean, 20, from North Baddesley and Hildyard, the 14-year-old from Fair Oak, both pocketed £60 but the latter also won an extra £20 for an excellent 55 break which, added to his handicap, was the best of the day.
McLean lost out to eventual winner Ryan Mears, who took £250 home to Aldershot.
Hildyard was beaten by Mark Sutton, the 1994 Midland amateur champion.
Nick Jennings, 13, picked up £30 for reaching the last eight which means Southampton juniors still hold five of the top ten ranking positions.
Back at Chandler's Ford SC for week 13 of the £900 Under-21 Roll Up, McLean avenged his defeat in Swindon by knocking in a 59 to beat Mears in the quarter-final.
In the last four, McLean smashed in a 74 against Arron McIntyre before overcoming 12-year-old Marchwood lad Billy Castle in the final.
Castle climbs to fourth and McLean, in third, closes the gap to ten points on current leader Jennings, who is only one clear of second-placed Hildyard.
Jack Hyom, 14, moves up to ninth after an excellent run to the semis was ended in a marathon five-framer by Castle.
Hildyard, after losing in the first round, knocked in a 57 break in the plate but was beaten by eventual winner Peter Maraziotis, who beat Hildyard's younger brother Jason in the final.
Lewis White, the 12-year-old who has been playing snooker for three years, has won all four of his matches and leads the early morning Under-13 Premier League after two weeks.
Eastleigh lad Toby Shefford, 10, had the highest break with an 18.
In the under-18 league, Dan Hildyard won all his matches and also had the highest break of 33 to join Jennings at the top of the Premier.
Ten local boys have made the long trek up to Pontins in Prestatyn, North Wales, for the biggest tournament in the junior snooker calendar.
The week-long 'Search for a Star' competition, played on tables used for main tour qualifiers, carries a top prize of £3,000 and a place on the Challenge Tour - one rung below the professional circuit.
The Southampton task force is led by Eastleigh's England international Mike Finn, who won the plate competition last year.
In the Chandler's Ford Seniors £2,500 series, Jim Everett and Paul Whapshott both won £40 after beating Paul Boulton and Carlo Cavagnetto respectively in the semi-finals.
Mark Andrews won the £10 plate.
Last Sunday's contest also had Whapshott collecting £25 after losing in the final to Nick Allen (£45). Trev Parker won the £10 plate.
Top of the leaderboard is Tim Dunkley (£402) from Mike Finn (£375), Nick Allen (£355) and Carlo Cavagnetto (£305).
