TWO Southampton Saints players have been selected for the England under-17 training camp next week.
Former Saints Centre of Excellence graduates, goalkeeper Daisy Burnfield and central midfield Danielle Ackerman, will join up with the cream of the country's crop in Preston.
Ackerman is only 15 and it's her first opportunity to shine at this level. She was voted top under-14 player at the South East England Centre of Excellence tournament last September and has played for both Southampton Saints' reserves and first team this season.
Burnfield is a year older and has been pushing for a Saints' first-team spot all season, but has plenty of competition from Roxanne Roberts and Jo Chastney.
Director Sue Lopez is delighted the Centre of Excellence continues to produce potential international talent.
She said: "Danielle deserves her chances. She has a lot of vision and moves the ball well for someone so young. If she continues to progress, she has a bright future."
