A CAMPAIGN to get more people to take up allotments in Ludgershall has proved to be a blooming success.
There are now 60 plots let in the village which has its own thriving gardening club.
The allotments, in Bell Street and Deweys Lane, are let to villagers as well as people in the Chutes, Tidworth and the Collingbournes but there is no reason stopping keen gardeners from Andover and surrounding villagers from applying. Plots cost just £10 a year and there are still some available.
Some of the area in Bell Street is currently unused after a plan for a BMX park on the site fell through after public opposition - but the area could be brought back into use if more people took up the allotments.
