MEMBERS of Ludgershall Parish Council say the £60,000 spent by Wiltshire County Council on traffic calming measures at Meade Road would have been better spent in other parts of the village.
They say that the idea, which has resulted in a raised table area with bollards and dropped kerbs, was imposed against their recommendations.
"We didn't want that scheme in the first place and thought that the money could have been spent at Empress Way or Deweys Lane," said council chairman Chris Williams.
"We were consulted but told what was going to happen." Parish councillors agreed to make their views known to Wiltshire County Council.
