MOSCOW-based Imperial Ice Stars will soon be dazzling audiences in Southampton on their first UK tour.
The Sleeping Beauty on Ice will take to the ice-adorned stage at The Mayflower from February 15 -20, and the spectacular show is sure to thrill and enchant young and old alike.
World ice-skating star Mandy Woetzel heads the cast of 23 Russian skaters who make up the Imperial Ice Stars.
Woetzel was the 1995 European Champion, 1997 World Champion and 1998 Olympic Bronze winner, and is proving just as successful in her new skating role.
Having performed to rave reviews in Australia and the Far East, the Ice Stars made their UK debut in Cardiff last month.
The Mayflower is the third venue on this 14-week tour, so audiences in Southampton will be some of the first to see the Ice Stars in action.
Ice theatre director Tony Mercer and choreographer Tatiana Tarasova have brought together the story of Princess Aurora, her handsome prince and the evil black fairy Carabosse in a seamless and breathtaking display of strength, skill, elegance and beauty.
However, it is not just the triple flips and double axels that are set to impress the audience. With over 100 costumes, lavish backdrops and a magical fairytale storyline set to beautiful Tchaikovsky music, The Sleeping Beauty on Ice is an intimate and unique theatre experience that will leave the audience in awe of the performers.
