theatre O bring their new show Astronaut... a domestic odyssey to The Corn Exchange on Wednesday, March 2, at 7.45pm, prior to a season at The Barbican in London.

Astronaut is a play about faith, opportun-ity and conquering gravity. It is the story of the unremarkable X, the man with no plan.

Out of the blue, the European Space Agency selects him as part of its new Mars Initiative - it wants someone ordinary, someone random, someone representative of society, a sort of Pop Idol for Astronauts. X (pictured) becomes a hero. As the launch date draws near, the anticipation soars. Until...

Based on a short story by Andrea Valds, Astronaut is directed by Joseph Alford and features Carolina Valds, Eva Vilamitjana and Tony Arteaga.

Combining text, action, music, rhythm and dance, the company searches for the ideal theatrical representation of the human story, lifting productions out of the theatre and into the realms of the imagination.

Theatre O have toured all around the world, including Australia, Brazil and Sweden, as well as performing at The Edinburgh Festival.

To buy tickets, priced £10 (£8 discounts, £5 under-25s), contact The Corn Exchange box office on 01635 522733 or book online at www.cornexchangenew.com

Astronaut... a domestic odyssey is also showing at South Street, Reading, on Thursday, March 3.
