A LATE Fyffes Leicester goal robbed Trojans the chance of picking up a precious EHA Women's Premier League point at Stoneham Lane.
They looked to be weathering sustained late pressure from the Midlanders but, four minutes from time, conceded a penalty corner and watched Georgina Sharples bury Leicester's winner.
It was certainly a creditable performance by Trojans, who lost 5-0 to Leicester during the autumn term and had to claw back after Vanessa Hawkins had given the visitors the lead.
Trojans were unable to capitalise on their penalty corners, but after 62 minutes equalised when Alex Danson rifled home a reverse stick shot.
It co-incided with the England teenager's first full appearance since October, when she badly injured her shoulder in an accident at home.
Danson's return will certainly boost Trojans' prospects of survival.
With Doncaster and Sutton Coldfield also losing, Trojans remain in the third-from-bottom play-off position.
Southampton had been heartened by some encouraging post-Christmas results, but found Division 3 pacesetters Bradford far too strong, crashing to a 4-0 defeat at the Sports Centre.
The hosts were seldom able to enjoy any control and trailed 2-0 at the break through Hannah Norman (15) and Sarah Whitehouse (22), who both scored from free play.
Ashleigh Ball scored twice in the second period to add to Southampton's woe.
In the Hampshire League, Trojans spanked Winchester 5-2, but remain ten points behind champions Aldershot & Farnham, while Southampton II trimmed Basingstoke 3-0.
