SOUTHAMPTON Area Talking Echo is currently recruiting volunteer readers, editors, tape managers and copiers.
The Talking Echo is a voluntary association that provides news and other information on cassette tape to blind and visually impaired listeners.
About 400 listeners receive the Talking Echo and these numbers are increasing all the time, according to Chris Litton, technical services manager for Southampton Area Talking Echo.
"We have the most difficulty in recruiting volunteers to help us with the editorial, cassette management and distribution functions," he added.
"We are always keen to hear from volunteers interested in these areas.
"Also we are seeking sponsorship from local businesses to fund a part-time job position, so if anyone is interested in helping us, I would love to hear from them."
If you would like to become a volunteer or would like to offer sponsorship, contact Chris Litton on 023 8076 7583.
