A NEW booklet from the Multiple Sclerosis Society describes what happens in the various types of MS - ranging from the benign to severely disabling - how it is diagnosed and what treatments are now available.
What is MS? also provides information and advice on living with MS and managing its symptoms, exercise and mobility, employment and benefits.
It details the support available from the MS Society and health and social care services and lists other useful organisations.
MS is the most common disabling neurological condition affecting young adults in the western world.
An estimated 85,000 people in the UK have MS.
The 28-page A4 booklet is available free from the Information Team, MS National Centre, 372 Edgware Road, Cricklewood, London NW2 6ND or call 020 8438 0799.
