BASING House ruins: Surfing the internet last week, I came across an old Terry Hunt postcard of Basing House ruins being auctioned on e-bay.
Bidding started at £4 and stayed around £6 for most of the week before selling for £30!
I believe the winner was a lady from Basing.
I expect there will now be a spate of searches of lofts throughout the village looking for other Basing House memorabilia to auction!
Alan and Nicola Turton, at Basing House, would certainly be interested in any items you don't want.
PARISH council: The next full council meeting is at 7pm on Monday.
The public are always welcome at these meetings.
REDBRIDGE Lane: Some residents have expressed their concern to me at the lack of visibility onto the bridge when travelling towards Old Basing, due to the temporary fencing around the building site adjacent to the bridge.
I have been informed by the police that since the fence is on private land which is being developed, these concerns should be made to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council's planning office.
