MEETING: Ellisfield Parish Council next meets on Monday, starting at 7.30pm.

Items being discussed will include planning applications for a new, much larger, house to replace Wyckens, on Axford Road, and for a new house at The Rest site in College Lane.

Cllr Tim Guinness has sent his apologies, meaning just three councillors will be present. If one of them unexpectedly cannot attend, the meeting will not be quorate and will have to be postponed. The sooner two new councillors come on board the better!

ELECTION: The parish council election has been provisionally set to be on Thursday, March 31.

This will only happen if more than two residents put their names forward for nomination.

LOVERS' date: Saturday, February 12, is the date for the Valentine's disco evening at the Farleigh Wallop Estate Club, not February 21 as advertised in Hill & Dale.

NOSTALGIA: Remember The Good Old Days on television?

Well, tickets are now available, costing £10 each, including a fish and chip supper, for the Olde Tyme Music Hall evening being held at the Memorial Hall on Saturday, February 26, at 7.30pm.

If you want to, dress in the fashion of the time. There will be prizes for the best Edwardian-clad couple.

Get your tickets from any hall committee member, or telephone 01256 381383.

DIARY dates: On February 28, at 7.30pm for 8pm, there is the volunteer group's AGM and social.

May 1 is the date for the Bluebell Walk, which starts at 10am, and on September 25 at 10am there is the Ellisfield Autumn Walk.
