Charmaine Rose from Whitchurch has been transformed after undergoing nearly £50,000 worth of cosmetic surgery as part of the satellite television programme Extreme Makeover.
Charmaine, of Bellevue, has undergone a boob and nose job, facelift, brow lift, lower and upper eye surgery, treatment to plump up her lips, laser eye treatment, removal of a mole and hair and nail extensions.
The 51-year-old divorce, was nominated for the show by her daughters Catriona, aged 17, and Christina, aged 15, who had seen the American version of the programme. It was their way of saying thank you to their mum for raising them on her own since the divorce.
Charmaine had always wanted cosmetic surgery because she felt her body looked rather boyish and she saw this as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
She said: "I was quite often mistaken for a man. In a street in Whitchurch once someone came up to me and asked if I was a man or woman. Now I feel like a new woman. I loved what was inside of me but hated what I saw."
