DAVID Essex takes to the stage at The Mayflower next week in Boogie Nights 2 - a dance romp of retro 80s fun, also starring Sophie Lawrence, who used to play Diane in EastEnders, and Scott Robinson who was once in boyband 5ive.
The show picks up the story ten years on from the original Boogie Nights, and takes the audience on a whirlwind tour through the culture and music of the decade that taste forgot - the 1980s.
Flares and platforms are no longer the rage. Instead it is shoulder pads and shell suits that dominate the performers' costumes.
Ladies favourite Essex plays a guardian angel in a part that was written specifically for him, and a high portion of the audience are certain to swoon at the silver-haired hearthrob's performance.
Full of classic 80s hits made famous by performers such as Wham!, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Madonna, the show is a must-see for those wanting to reminisce about the time when shoulder pads were considered to be cutting-edge fashion!
Boogie Nights 2. February 7-12. Box Office on 023 8071 1811.
