STEP into the Time Machine and you may not be transported to a previous century, but you will earn yourself a spot of gardening, shopping or the chance to have your shirts ironed.
In a new volunteering initiative, Thornhill residents can donate their skills and services to benefit others.
Participants 'bank' the service they give, which they can then 'spend' to receive skills and services in return from other registered volunteers.
The Thornhill Time Machine was officially launched by former Dr Who actor Colin Baker who resumed his time travels at St Christopher's Church Hall in Pepys Avenue, Southampton.
Thornhill residents can register their interest in becoming a volunteer by ringing freephone 0800 169 5561 during office hours or by e-mailing gclifford@eastpointcentre.co.uk
