KIND-HEARTED schoolgirls who took part in a sponsored silence have helped to collect about £120 for victims of the tsunami disaster.
Gemma Cromar, 11, Daisy Wheeler, 10, and twins Raman and Aman Sandu, also 10, kept their lips sealed for six hours to fundraise for urgent relief work.
The friends, who are all pupils at Bitterne Manor Primary School in Quayside Road, Southampton, also made 'emotion bug' toys, which they sold to their friends and family in a bid to collect even more cash.
Gemma's mum Vickie Jones, of Kent Street, Southampton, said: "They've done really well and it was all their own idea. We've very proud of them."
