Hamble ASSC remain rooted to the foot of the Sydenhams Wessex League table after a disappointing 3-0 home defeat by Cowes Sports.
Although the Isle of Wight club do not travel particularly well in midweek, they ran out comfortable winners at Folland Park thanks to Matthew Bowler, Elliot Day and manager' son Matthew Ohren.
With 13 games left, Hamble are still six points adrift of third-to-bottom safety and secretary Matt Newbold confessed: "Games are running out and the teams we've got left to play are not that easy."
To add to the Planemakers' frustration, they had co-manager/coach Jimmy Ball sent off for two bookable offences in a game riddled with yellow cards.
Brockenhurst, in contrast, are breathing easier these days after banking seven points from their last three games.
"It's our best return of the season," smiled relieved player/manager Graham Kemp, who defied ankle problems to help the Badgers to a 2-1 home win over Hamworthy United last night.
Having fallen behind to a Darren Orchard goal late in the first half, Brock bounced back with a Darren Guetling header from a corner and a near-post finish by Dave Midgley from Paul Manning's cross.
The result was all the more pleasing for Brock considering they were without Jason Lovell, Ross Drew, Mark Isaacson and Dominic Bryan because sickness and injuries.
"Unfortunately Pikey (Hamworthy boss Alex Pike) wasn't here to see it," laughed Kemp, "but I'll let him know all about it tomorrow!"
Manager Louis Savage blamed individual errors as Fareham twice lost the lead in a 2-2 home draw against the old enemy BAT.
In another physical battle between the sides, Town got their noses in front through new signing Lee Paul and a James Crawford (penalty) only to be punished for mistakes.
Savage said: "A bad back pass from Ben Moore allowed them back into the game at 1-1 and then their forward's nipped in and taken the ball off Dan Turner. We should have won really, but the errors cost us."
It was a similar story for Savage's opposite number, Andy Leader, who explained: "Fareham's first goal came from a bad free-kick from James Roden. We were on the attack, but he played a diagonal ball which was intercepted. Then for the penalty, Simon Elliott's been done for handball."
On the plus side, the Tobaccomen's first goal was a cracking finish from Eastleigh loan striker Barry Mason, while the equaliser was a sweet chip by Richard Gregory over new Fareham keeper Steve May.
"It was another bruising encounter but we showed great character to come back twice," said Leader.
