DANIEL Bedingfield says he would love to do a duet with Southampton R 'n' B superstar Craig David.
But fans should not get too excited because Daniel does not think it will happen for another three or four years.
The star was speaking to the Daily Echo ahead of an intimate gig, for Ocean FM listeners, at Southampton's Apartment 26 club last Friday.
The New Zealand-born singer sang a mixture of acoustic songs from his two albums, Gotta Get Thru This and Second First Impression, in front of just 150 fans.
"I love Southampton. It's a great place. I come here all the time when I'm visiting my mate Craig David," he cheekily quipped.
"Craig's a great person and great singer. I'd love to work with him one day and we probably will, but not for another three or four years' time."
Daniel also revealed he would like to work with one of Craig's friends, Sting. The pair had a number two hit in 2002 with Rise and Fall.
He added he loved playing low-key, unplugged gigs, revealing plans for an acoustic album in the future.
"I love performing with just an acoustic guitar," said Daniel, who has sold nearly five million albums worldwide.
"It's much more natural. My next album will be an acoustic one.
"It was great fun recording the Second First Impression and being in a big studio.
"I didn't have the tools I needed with Gotta Get Thru This.
"I could be myself with the new record and a lot more expressive."
