MISS Missed: It's beginning to sink in just how much Sally Adams, who sold up and left Ellisfield last month, is missed.

It was always with pleasure that we turned to this column on a Friday morning to see what Sally had to say.

The fact that she is a "people person" always shone out through her prose.

Whether reporting on the church, village hall, parish council, ladies club or what have you, it was always the individuals that got mentioned, thanked and praised.

Well, Miss Sally Adams, you've got more time now for the excitement of London and the pleasures of travel. Enjoy yourself!

ELECTION: Ten residents have requested an election for Peter Mitchell's replacement on the parish council.

Now that Sally Adams has also sent in her formal resignation, the election for two new councillors will take place around the end of March.

GALA dinner: Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Ladies Club, last Saturday evening's dinner was an absolute wow.

Ellisfield's hall was packed, evening dresses flowed (as did the wine) and all the men looked wonderfully handsome (something to do with the wine?).

After the dinner, white balloons on the tables swayed to the '60s music, as did the ladies and their consorts.

A number of very interesting war dances were also performed, some of them needing a lot more space than was available.

Well done to Doreen, Celia and everyone else who contributed to such a fun evening.
