DUMMER Village Hall: Positively burst into 2005 when Messrs Napier, Northam and Wareham, plus neighbours, organised a "See the New Year In" party.
This was so well attended that a handsome donation was given to the hall committee for the updates that are taking place.
It was a really great evening as well.
The regular bookers are now back - music club, Scottish dancing, yoga etc - and if anyone would like to know more about these groups, please call me.
Our next event is the speed dating evening being held next Friday, so, all you singletons, e-mail DummerDating@yahoo.co.uk to find out more, or call me.
We think this must be the first speed dating event organised by a hall committee, as so many people have said "What a fun idea." But only singles can attend - which rules out most of the committee!
TSUNAMI: In the midst of all this revelry we didn't forget those more unfortunate than ourselves and, thanks to the Willats family, the Rotarians and Sue Ferguson, Dummer Cricket School was open on two weekends to accept gifts for those who have suffered in the tsunami disaster.
So many people wanted to do more than just give money and so many were involved.
Thank you to all those who gave generously with both items and their time.
