A DELICIOUS comedy of manners and mischief is the order of the day at the Salisbury Playhouse.
Relative Values, by the master of wit, Noel Coward, is arguably one of the playwright's greatest plays.
Set in the early 1950s, it centres around Felicity, Countess of Marshwood, who is the proud head of an upper-crust establishment. When her eldest son Nigel returns home engaged to a notorious Hollywood starlet, everyone is appalled, but Felicity has far more than raised eyebrows to worry about when she discovers why her maid, Moxie, is so upset by the idea. As Felicity, Moxie and the razor sharp, philosophising butler, Crestwell, put their heads together to make Nigel recognise his bride-to-be's true colours, they concoct a delectable plan that triggers a series of hilarious events.
Relative Values runs until February 26. Tickets from £9. Box office: 01722 320333.
