Winchester rock and roll band Jumbo Boomers are celebrating after winning through to the grand final of the city's battle of the bands compettion.
The six-strong band all hail from Winchester and are students and alumni of the city's Peter Symonds College.
Their victory in this week's heat means they will now meet rock and funk band The Shan and the winners of the final heat at the grand final of the battle at Winchester's Theatre Royal on Saturday February 12.
"We're pretty pleased to have won," said bass guitarist Johnny Seymour, 16. "It was awesome. We didn't know what the judges thought about us but they must have liked it."
The band already has a claim to fame as they count the brother of Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows among their number.
Other band members are singer Nick Hill, 17, rhythm guitarist Tom Lamb, 16, drummers Fred Lamb, 18, Ben Burrows, 18 and Luke Keyte, 18.
All six hail from Winchester and Ben is the brother of Andy Burrows who shot to fame when he was recruited as the drummer for Razorlight, who hit the charts with 'Vice' and 'Golden Touch'.
The overall winners of the Battle of the Bands competition will win a day at a professional recording studio. The next heat will be held at the Tower Arts Centre on Romsey Road on Monday February 7.
