RELEGATION from Hampshire Division Two is not on the agenda at Fawley after they secured a second successive win with a 10-9 success over Fordingbridge, who have slipped dangerously close to the drop zone.
Phil Martin's converted try, picking up on some confusion in the Foresters' backs, was added to with a penalty before the hosts clawed their way back with three penalties but it was not enough to deny Fawley the much needed points.
Their cause was not assisted by Ventnor's surprise 16-3 home win over promotion-chasing Ellingham & Ringwood, which meant Lee Haisman's team remain two points off the safety rung.
Eastleigh's hopes of promotion are fading after they were crushed 36-0 by Aldershot & Fleet.
Paxton Pumas police force, all on duty at St Mary's, were all missed as the Hampshire Three side slipped to their first loss of the campaign, a 26-20 reverse to Kingsclere which drops them to third.
