CUSTOMERS at the Lapstone pub in Botley Road, Horton Heath, took part in a charity auction, raffle, and quiz to raise more than £6,000 in support of the Daily Echo-backed Southampton Council of Faiths Tsunami Appeal.
Items up for grabs included seats from the original Southampton FC stadium, the Dell.
Event organisers Vivien Bartlett and Gill Clarke presented a cheque for £6,200 to the Rev Ian Johnson, Southampton Council of Faiths member and rector of Southampton City Centre.
Vivien said: "Gill and I felt so proud to hand over the sum. It was far beyond our expectations as we had been aiming for £3,000. The money we have raised will go to a village in Sri Lanka to help rebuild fishing communities."
Rev Ian Johnson is pictured above left being presented with the cheque by Vivien and Gill.
