JUSTIN Rose slipped from sixth to a position in the middle of the pack after a second round 72 in the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.
The Englishman is tied for 41st in the five-round California tournament, but at least the extra 18 holes will give him more chance to make up lost ground on leader Joe Ogilvie, who stands at an impressive 17 under par after just 36 holes.
Hampshire's Richard Bland and Gary Emerson both faced a battle to make the cut at the Caltex Masters in Singapore this morning.
Bland was one over after ten holes of the second round and could afford to drop no further shots to make the cut, while Emerson, at four over, was in need of a birdie barrage over the last six holes to be playing over the weekend.
Scotland's Colin Montgomerie held a one shot lead on -7, but still had five holes of his second round to play.
Thomas Bjorn, meanwhile, was safely in the clubhouse with a 36-hole total of -6.
