CHILDREN and teachers at a Southampton school collected all their coppers to raise money for the tsunami appeal.
Pupils at the 400-pupil Foundry Lane Primary School spelt "Foundry Lane Tsunamis Appeal" on the playground.
Now teachers are counting up the money which will be sent to the national appeal.
The school council chose the idea for the event after the year groups submitted their ideas.
Head teacher Andy Withers said: "The children were particularly touched by what they saw on television, especially seeing other youngsters whose schools were devastated."
