A GANG of robbers targeting the elderly in their homes across Hampshire has struck again.

In one incident yesterday three men held down a 92-year-old woman while they stole her cash.

The three robbers managed to get into the house in Bishop's Waltham through an open back door. The attackers also searched the property but nothing else was stolen.

In a separate incident, a 75-year-old disabled woman was in her kitchen when two men got into her home in Shedfield also through the back door.

The woman fell to the floor during the burglary. Nothing was stolen in the attack.

The pensioner has told the Daily Echo how she was left bleeding from a cut to the head after falling when two men in their 20s burst into her bungalow.

"It's horrid having that happen in your home. It really was most unpleasant.

"They came to the back door and just walked in. I thought to myself: 'Keep calm. There's no point in you getting ruffled, that won't help'.

"I'm dodgy on my legs, but they still pushed past me.

"I think I'm very lucky as they did not get very far.

"That door will stay shut and locked now and I would advise other people to do the same."

The Daily Echo revealed last week how gangs of robbers have been deliberately picking homes across the county where elderly people live alone - including properties in Eastleigh, Chandler's Ford, Gosport and Winchester.

In one case a woman broke her wrist as she grappled with an intruder who was trying to escape from her home and in another case an elderly woman fought off attackers with a broom.

Detectives are now hunting for those responsible and appealing to anyone with information relating to these incidents or who may have seen people acting suspiciously in the area to get in touch.
