Fareham Town and Hamble ASSC were victims of a Dorset demolition job in last night's Wessex League Cup quarter-final ties.
A Kevin Gill, pictured, goal gave Hamworthy United the 1-0 verdict over Fareham at a bitterly cold Cams Alders, while Division 2 promotion-seekers Poole Town triumphed by an identical scoreline at top-flight strugglers Hamble ASSC.
The Dolphins' winner came off a Hamble boot with defender Paul Miles spooning the ball into his own net as he attempted to clear a second-minute corner.
Poole boss Tom Killick wasn't overly happy with his side's performance but said: "We did reasonably well on a not particularly good pitch.
"Judging by their manager's (Danny Bowers) enthusiasm, the match was obviously a big deal to Hamble and they were very, very motivated.
"What they lacked in quality, they certainly made up for in sheer endeavour. But we defended well and were strong when we needed to be.
"Even when we don't play well, we're quite professional and workmanlike these days and our new Army signing Joe Collins typifies that. It was only his second game for us tonight, but he's got a lot of Southern League experience and is mentally good and physically strong."
Hamworthy now play the winners of next Tuesday's tie between Gosport and Newbury, while Poole meet either Winchester City or Thatcham.
