JUSTIN Rose was among the first arrivals at Palm Springs for this week's Bob Hope Classic.
The Hampshire player missed the cut by one shot for The Buick International at Torrey Pines, and admitted: "I had a problem with the surface there.
"I want to get to Palm Springs early to get a feel for the greens and to get my putter working."
Although his putting on days three and four cost him a big finish in the Sony Open and then left him on the wrong side of the cut at Torrey Pines, he reveals: "My game generally is in good shape and I'm looking for a big result in the Bob Hope."
