Sir.-Liberal Democrat leader Charles Kennedy has launched our campaign for the General Election, and we are already out there campaigning for more votes and more seats.
More and more people are now saying the Liberal Democrats are the only real opposition to this tired, and untrustworthy, Labour Government.
On so many issues it is the Liberal Democrats who have challenged this Government. We asked the critical questions while the Conservatives have lined up and voted with Labour.
On the big issues of the day there is little to choose between them. They have supported each other over the war in Iraq, tuition fees and council tax.
Only the Liberal Democrats have been prepared to stand up and be counted.
This Labour Government has lost the trust of the British people. The "Blair vs Brown" soap opera is splitting the Labour party while John Prescott has created a whole layer of unelected bureaucrats who seem set to erode the local voice in planning decisions and concrete over the South East.
Many traditional Labour voters feel that their party's principles have been thrown out of the window and Tony Blair's stance on the Iraq war has been the last straw.
Meanwhile, the Conservatives have been fading away as a truly national party. Across a third of the country they have literally been wiped off the political map.
Many moderate Conservatives are turning to the Liberal Democrats while the Thatcherite tendency have turned to UKIP.
All over the UK, it is the Liberal Democrats who are growing in strength and support. We are the main challengers to Labour in the north and the Tories in the south.
Three-party politics has arrived and is here to stay.
Nationally, we are the second party of local government and run councils up and down the country.
From my conversations with people in North East Hampshire, it is clear the public are willing us to win more seats both at local and national level, at the next county and general elections.
The public know we are pleasant, enthusiastic people, not afraid to stand up for their local community. We have a clear agenda of tightly-costed and affordable policies, underpinned by our principles - freedom, fairness and trust.
We are the only party who will scrap tuition and top-up fees for students. We will axe the council tax and replace it with a system based on ability to pay.
We want properly-funded local schools and hospitals free of endless targets, tests and interfering Whitehall bureaucracy.
We will tackle the causes of crime and put another 10,000 more police on our streets by scrapping Blunkett's authoritarian and unworkable ID card scheme.
We will ensure that environmental concerns and the threat of climate change are brought to the very top of the political agenda, and we are the only party to bring Tony Blair and his spin doctors to book over the war in Iraq.
Voters at the next general election will be faced with a stark choice - the tired old politics of despair verses a Liberal Democrat vision of confidence and hope.
-Adam Carew, Liberal Democrat prospective parliamentary candidate, North East Hampshire.
