A GRITTY northern comedy set in the late 1950s, explores the taboo subjects of the time in Shelagh Delaney's original stage production, A Taste of Honey, which opens at the Havant Arts Centre on Thursday.
Performed by Riverside Theatre Productions, the play deals with mixed race relationships, teenage pregnancy, prostitution and homosexuality in a time when such issues that are commonplace today were forbidden subjects.
A Taste of Honey centres around Jo and her relationship with her irresponsible mother, and the men in their lives, all told through sharp, witty dialogue.
Tickets start from £7.50. Box office: 023 9247 2700.
