Gosport goal-getter Graham Lindsay scored his 100th goal for the club as they returned to winning ways with a 4-1 victory over CHRISTCHURCH at Privett Park.

Lindsay became only the sixth member to join Gosport's exclusive 'century club' after 88 minutes on Saturday when he fired home from the edge of the penalty area to put the seal on their 4-1 success.

Assistant manager Gary Lee smiled: "I think that's the first time this season that we've played as we really can play. Our finishing was absolutely first class, which was probably the most pleasing aspect of our performance."

Borough opened the scoring afte 30 minutes, a flowing five-man move was finished off by John Cripps and that's how the score stayed until the 75th minute when a mistake by home keeper Colin Matthews was punished by Tom Hughes.

Two minutes later, Neil Scammell fired Gosport back in front from the edge of the penalty area and then Lindsay crossed for Scammell to nod in their third after 82 minutes with Lindsay having the final word.

The three clubs immediately above fifth-placed Gosport also picked up maximum points but THATCHAM TOWN manager Jason Braidwood missed his side's 1-0 win over FAREHAM after being taken to hospital on Friday evening with a stomach problem.

New-signing Danny Sullivan made an instant impression by scoring the all-important goal with his first touch after coming on as a 75th minute substitute. The former Andover man latched on to a through ball by Richard Witt and lashed it home from 20 yards.

Sullivan's former club raced into a 3-0 lead against VT FC at the Portway Stadium but the LIONS ended up hanging on for a narrow 3-2 verdict.

Vince Rusher's 44th-minute corner kick was nodded in by leading scorer Justin Bennett and another Rusher flag-kick saw Glen Damon double Andover's lead after 55 minutes. Rusher completed his hat-trick of assists with a 62nd-minute delivery to the far post where ex-Winchester

City defender Kieron Hall popped up to net his first goal for his new club.

A quickly taken free-kick by manager's son Marc Diaper saw the Boatmen reduce the arrears after 70 minutes and Stewart Beck set-up a tense finale by curling in VT's second with ten minutes remaining.

COWES manager Derek Ohren returned from a month's holiday in Australia to see third-placed WIMBORNE TOWN triumph 2-1 over his Island side at Westwood Park.

The Magpies, minus the suspended Gareth Barnes and Stuart Cannie, took the lead through Warren Doyle from a cross by Scott Arnold. Chris Kennedy added a second on the hour mark before Darren Powell headed in a Sam Hart free kick to reduce the arrears for the Yachtsmen.

AFC Totton followed up their excellent midweek over Lymington & New Milton with a matching 2-1 home success over BROCKENHURST at Testwood Park.

"We're going really well at the moment, although a couple more goals would have been nice. I'm looking to bring another striker in," confirmed Totton boss Stuart Ritchie.

Jason Lovell gave the Foresters a fifth-minute lead but a 30-yard strike by Matty Monk after 30 minutes and a Steve Whitcher penalty five minutes later clinched another three points for the home side.

Totton's neighbours BAT also collected maximum points with a 2-0 win against BEMERTON HEATH HARLEQUINS.

Paul West crossed for midfielder Jamie Platt to slot the Tobaccomen into a 25th-minute lead and Barry Mason, returning to the side following a shoulder injury, headed their second from Richie Gregory's cross midway through the second half.

Second-half goals by Brett Williams (60) and Anthony Tilley (85) secured HAMWORTHY UNITED a 2-0 home verdict over MONEYFIELDS, while a Steve Poulton penalty plus a goal by substitute John Wanless gave ALTON the same winning scoreline away at PORTLAND UNITED.

HAMBLE ASSC remain anchored in the bottom two after going down 1-0 at home to BOURNEMOUTH POPPIES, Karim Banssaouda grabbing the only goal of the game.
