A SHOW that will keep youngsters aged five and upwards enthralled for an hour is The Legend of Perseus.
Based on the Greek myth, it follows the story of a young hero called Perseus, son of Zeus, who has been sent on a quest to kill a hideous monster called Medusa.
Medusa is a nasty piece of work, with snakes instead of hair, horrible claws and tusks.
She can even turn a man to stone with just one look.
During the performance, our hero Perseus will free a winged horse called Pegasus, defeat Atlas and vie with Poseidon for the hand of beautiful Andromeda.
Many people may be familiar with this truly classic story, thanks to the Hollywood film Clash of the Titans.
But this time, recreating a world of gods, heroes and monsters is down to just two people from Big Wooden Horse Theatre Company - director Juliet Forster and Adam Bampton-Smith, who has not only written the script but also performs all the parts.
The show should prove to be both entertaining and educational as the production links directly to Key Stage 2 topic Greeks and Romans.
The Legend of Perseus will be at Central Studio, Basingstoke, on Saturday, January 29, starting at 11am.
Tickets cost £4 for children and £5 for adults and can be booked at the box office, on 01256 418318, or online, at www.centralstudio.co.uk
