BUDDING thespians from a Winchester college are celebrating after the Daily Echo honoured their talents at the Curtain Call Awards.
Peter Symonds student Clare Brenton took the award for best actress in a Shakespeare play for her performance as Rosalind in the college's production of As You Like It.
The cast also reached the shortlist for the production of the year award. Other nominations included Charlotte Baslin, who played Prothero, for best supporting actress, and Will Edelsten and James Doodson for best supporting actors in their roles as Touchstone and Jacques.
Play director Sarah Hawkins said: "We were delighted to have so many nominations, which the students deserved."
Sarah is just about to start directing next summer's college play, The Taming of the Shrew.
Eighty productions were reviewed by the Daily Echo team and the awards were announced at a gala dinner held in Winchester Guildhall on Friday night.
