A GRIEVING couple today paid tribute to their son who was killed when his car careered off one of the New Forest's busiest roads.
Daniel Ogburn, whose parents live at The Rowans, Marchwood, was killed in a single-vehicle accident on the A31 at Stoney Cross last Monday.
Mr Ogburn, 21, suffered serious head injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement, his family said: "Dan worked as a shift manager in McDonald's in Bourne-mouth.
"He grew up in Marchwood, attending both the infant and junior schools, before moving on to Applemore College. He was a popular person who enjoyed sport and travel - he loved to have a flutter on almost anything."
The statement described Mr Ogburn, who lived in Southampton, as a born leader who had often organised trips for friends, including a visit to Portugal last summer for the European Football Championships.
It added: "We were all proud to have him in our lives. A Saints supporter all his life, we smiled when Dan left home to move into an apartment at The Dell a few months ago. He leaves behind his parents, a younger sister and a host of distraught friends and family."
