Mike Smith's Hordle Complex was in good form for a Cormorants' club match on Spring Lake and Bob's Lake.
Andy O'Conner won for the first time in ages. He rarely gets time to fish these days. but showed he has not lost his touch by taking 70lb of carp to 8lb on the waggler and band and pellet up in the water from the dam wall on Bob's Lake.
That got the better of Cormorants Team Sillybaits' Steve Rochester (65lb 8oz from the next peg), with Poingdestres' Pete Newman third with 60lb 1oz, also from the dam wall.
Others: C Egerton (Poingdestres) 56lb, G Naylor (Kings Toyota) 55lb 1oz.
Saturday's Greenridge Open on Greenridge Farm saw Dwayne Seede finally finish in front after a series of near misses. Seede took 37lb 2oz of carp to 7lb on pole and corn from peg 17 on Canal Two to win from Andy Haydon, with 34lb 10oz of carp to 4lb from peg 15 on Canal Two on pole and maggot. Olin Stark finished third with 34lb 6oz of small carp from peg 20 on Canal Two.
Others: C Kellet 19lb 6oz, D Parvin 18lb 14oz, M Brown 18lb 4oz.
The Kennet Ospreys club match on Longbridge saw rising star Miles Levey, 15, take a superb mixed bag for 43lb 13oz on caster and red maggot and caster to finish second with 27lb 10oz of tench and bream, with Ian Jones third from peg 30 with 23lb 15oz of tench, bream, roach and perch (perch to 2lb 6oz and roach 1lb 14oz).
Others: N Shepton 22lb 8oz, M Parsons 19lb 6oz.
The Kennet and Avon Canal match at Pewsey proved poor, Matt Greaves (Lobbies Tackle) taking 5lb 13oz of roach on bloodworm and joker from peg 86 on the Wharf for victory. Dave Frier (Shimano) and Henry Golas (Oxford) finished joint second with 5lb 2oz of roach apiece on pole and pinkie with Jerry Wiggitt (Lobbies) fourth with 4lb 12oz.
Others: P Waddington (Oxford) 4lb 10oz, N Harris (Lobbies) 3lb 15oz.
The Greenridge Farm sweepstake went to John Clark who took 53lb of carp from peg 23 on Canal Three with fish to 3lb on the pole and maggot to edge of Harry Salkeld (48lb 6oz of small carp from peg 22 on Canal Three on the pole and maggot).
Others: G Tappenden 36lb 9oz, M Brown 31lb.
