PATIENTS in Eastleigh and the Test Valley area will get to have their say on the care they receive from local health services.

A survey sent out to 850 people aims to find out what patients think about the services and care from local GP surgeries and dentists in the Eastleigh and Test Valley South Primary Care Trust.

Questions will focus on aspects such as accessibility of making appointments, the quality of care, communication with professionals, information on medicines, the overall involvement in care, and issues in dental care.

The questionnaire is led by the Healthcare Commission involving every Primary Care Trust in the country as part of the NHS plan to design a service around the needs of the patient.

The results of these surveys will be released in the summer and they contribute to national performance indicators, which will give each Primary Care Trust a star rating.
