Andover New Street 2 Alresford Town 1
A PENALTY from Stuart Anderson and a Duncan Bateman strike four minutes from time gave New Street a precious three points in their relegation battle on Saturday.
Alresford played their part in what was a tight game with very few clear cut chances and took the lead after 20 minutes. New Street were caught in possession in midfield and former Andover striker Dean Cole netted with ease past returning goalkeeper Dean Hutchings.
Street battled hard but found the going tough against the side with which manager Glen Butterfield worked alongside Howard Goddard, until recently.
