THIRD-PLACED Locks Heath warmed for Saturday's big Division 2 promotion clash at home to second-placed Poole with an emphatic 5-0 success at Amesbury last night, writes DEREK HAWKINS.

Craig Finch volleyed the visitors into a 12th-minute lead with Andy Ricketts curling home Heath's second after 30 minutes.

An individual effort from Ross Down made it 3-0 on 64 minutes with Mike Summers (70) and Dave Hepple (82) completing Lock's nap hand.

"It's a great result for us and it's nice to get back to winning ways," said manager Matt Parr. "We're getting our first-choice players back again now and it sets us up nicely for the Poole game at the weekend."

Hythe & Dibden boss Dave Cox pointed his finger at a long list of injuries, suspensions and unavailability after watching his side, containing five youth team players, swamped 7-2 by Liss Athletic at their Jones Lane home.

A first-half hat-trick by Steve Harding - who netted four goals in total - helped power Liss into a 4-0 lead after only 20 minutes with two-goal Andy Neal and Rob Fry also on target. Under-18s Mike Naidoo and Lewis Brown replied.

"We played some good football and it's typical of our yo-yo season of lose one game, win one game," smiled Liss manager Tim Potter.

The Horndean versus Bishop's Waltham clash was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
