KEVIN Mascelyne's funeral: Took place at Christ the King Church, Brighton Hill, last Friday.
Kevin was young, brave and considerate of others.
He was very capable when it came to getting out and about in his electric wheelchair.
He makes me think, when grumbling about an injured finger, because I am improving and should be thankful.
Members of the church congregation cared for Kevin, respected him, helped him and prayed for him, and many were there for his funeral.
We will miss Kevin and believe he has gone to join the angels.
PANTO: People at the church enjoyed a recent visit to The Anvil to see Jack and the Beanstalk.
When the curtain went up we met Silly Billy, who made us all laugh.
It was not long before Jack came along, looking attractive in smart boots and a well-fitted costume.
Jack was followed by the Princess and Dame Trott, who changed during the show into various colourful and striking costumes.
This was an amusing and cheerful pantomime, memorable for some striking scenery.
Basingstoke's young people showed their enthusiasm, and older people were reminded of when they were given a special treat at Christmas, with a visit to the pantomime.
CELEBRATION: I appreciated being invited to the celebration and lunch for Dial-a-Ride members at Dummer Golf Club.
It was the 20th birthday of the charity, which provides a much-needed service for people who cannot use ordinary public transport.
The borough mayor, Cllr Gwen Richardson, sat next to Bob Shepherd, the chairman of Dial-a-Ride.
A picture was in The Gazette and although I was there, I was hiding out of sight!
