THE 197 pupils at Wallop Primary School decided to collect as many pennies and tuppenny pieces as they could and soon managed to raise an impressive £550 for the tsunami appeal.
On Tuesday morning the school piled the money into a wheelbarrow and turned up at Lloyds TSB to pay in the money.
Brave Knights Enham Junior School teacher Karen Pearce suffered some good-natured jibes when she walked to work in school uniform for the tsunami appeal.
Miss Pearce joined fellow teachers and pupils for a sponsored non-uniform day which raised £300 for emergency aid in affected countries.
Tots from Shepherds Spring Playschool played their part in helping to put the pieces back together. The youngsters were sponsored to take part in a JigIn on Tuesday when they completed as many jigsaws as possible for the tsunami appeal.
Pupils and staff at Anton Infants School were still counting how much money they raised from their collection of spare change earlier this week, but the final figure will be well over £100.
The spiral pattern made with the change represented the wave, heart patterns made out of paper represented love for the children caught up in the disaster and flower patterns were for those that had died.
