AN evening of suspense, drama and intrigue is the order of the day at the Lighthouse arts centre in Poole later this month as an all-star cast stars in the deliciously gruesome Dial M for Murder.
Tony Wendice, played by former Brookside star Steven Pinder, is a retired tennis pro who has quite unashamedly married Shiela, played by Joy Brook of Peak Practice and The Bill, for her money.
When it seems likely that she is in love with Max, Neighbours and Home and Away's Richard Grieve, Tony begins to plot her murder. He enlists the help of Captain Lesgate, Richard Walsh of London's Burning, as a hired killer, who enters the flat while Tony establishes his own alibi.
But who is murdered is the bloody question on everybody's lips? And just who is guilty?
Dial M for Murder was brought to the screen by Alfred Hitchcock in 1954 and has been a huge success on the stage ever since, leaving audiences on the edge of their seats and guessing right until the end just who the killer is.
Produced by the Middle Ground theatre Company this deviously good slice of suspense-drenched theatre fun opens at the Lighthouse on January 25 and runs for four nights.
Tickets from £9.50. Box office: 01202 685222.
